General Update 04/17/2022

Significant gameplay update to the difficulty curve, several visual improvements, and minor bug and performance changes.

Gameplay Updates

  • Difficulty curve reworked - now handtuned for first 15 waves, then simple quadratic formula
  • Prevented construction of things outside the map bounds, which would break many orders and most AI behavior
  • Resource reward scaling reduced from
    24 * (1.2^minutes) * strength
    to
    24 * (1.1^(minutes / 4)) * strength
  • Reward multiplier from wave strength increased from
    0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5, 2
    to
    0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.75, 2.25
    - so when selecting a reward which increases the wave strength by 2x, it now gives 2.25x the reward.
  • Zen Garden movement speed increased from 0.0001 to 0.0006 (ultra ultra slow) to avoid animation issues
  • Conjuring Circle movement speed increased from 0.0001 to 0.0006 (ultra ultra slow) to avoid animation issues
  • Attack area per point in attack range increased from 0.9 to 1.0

Visual updates

  • Character level notifications display logic changed
  • Fixed selection ring around construction not matching the constructed object
  • Zen Garden - Now animated and slightly smaller (7x7 to 5.46x5.86)
  • Living laboratory sturdy design icon changed
  • Rock troll portrait changed (added color)
  • Earth modifier Changed Design icon added
  • Enemy guard portrait location changed
  • Enemy guard arrow updated to match new character

Bugs

  • Fixed crash caused by selecting projectiles

Performance

  • Spread out retries more when a lot of contention getting to a building, such as when there are many workers on a single resource
